DAVID TALBOT
Founder and Principal
David Talbot founded multidisciplinary consultancy Platform in January 2018, and has more than 21 years’ professional experience in the architectural sector.
David’s resume includes 15 years at leading architecture firm dhk Architects, where he led teams as an Associate Director working on a diverse portfolio of work throughout South Africa.
His experience also includes 3 years working in architectural studios in London and Dublin on large scale commercial projects in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
In addition to an architectural degree from CPUT, David also has a post-graduate diploma in Property Studies from UCT. David is a Green Star Accredited Professional with the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) and a registered EDGE Expert and has provided sustainability services on a wide range of development projects.

RUXANDRA DAWSON

Ruxandra is an architect with more than 5 years’ professional experience in Cape Town and Vienna across a range of sectors including commercial, hospitality and residential developments.
After graduating from the Technical University of Vienna, Austria with a BSc in Architecture, she went on to specialise with a MSc in Sustainability and Adaptation in the Built Environment from University of East London, UK. Ruxandra is a GreenStar Accredited Professional with the Green Building Council of South Africa and registered EDGE Expert, and also has an accreditation in Project Management from University of Cape Town.
Her passion for sustainable design has remained a focus throughout her career. Ruxandra previously worked at dhk Architects where she was involved in a luxury lodge, high-end residential estate and private residence. She has also volunteered for Architecture Sans Frontières International.

HEITOR PEREIRA

Heitor is a Project Architect with more than 20 years experience. He graduated from CPUT in 1998 and UCT in 2000, and his work experience includes several years in London UK, Auckland NZ, and the Seychelles. He has experience in all fields from small to large scale projects in the commercial, retail and private sectors.

LENA TORLAGE

Lena is an interior architect with more than 13 years’ experience in the interior design industry, across the commercial, residential and retail sectors. She studied interior architecture at the University of Applied Sciences, Stuttgart, Germany, and the Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland before moving to South Africa to pursue her career in design.
Her extensive experience includes 9 years at commercial design firm dhk where she worked on large scale office developments. She has worked as a creative consultant since 2015, collaborating with various interior design studios and was a design director and co-owner of ATTIK until 2017. Her current portfolio includes offices, retail, coffee shops and restaurants as well as private residential design.
Lena is also a GreenStar Accredited Professional with the Green Building Council of South Africa.

EMMANUEL AKUFUNA

Emmanuel is a professional architectural technologist with more than 14 years of experience in the architecture and planning industry. After graduating from Bulawayo Polytechnic in Zimbabwe, Emmanuel moved to South Africa, initially working in Johannesburg before moving to Cape Town.
He worked with Linea Architectural Dynamics and then spent three years with Neil Marie Architects in Cape Town before moving to WP Bosch & Associates in Stellenbosch.
Emmanuel is skilled across various sectors and at all scales, but through his work experience has gained specialist skills in residential design, including existing building surveys, local authority approvals and technical documentation.
Emmanuel is a SACAP registered Professional Architectural Technologist.
